PERRY, NY — The paint has dried (most of it anyway), the artwork is on the walls, and now it’s time to celebrate! The Arts Council for Wyoming County (ACWC), in partnership with the Perry Main Street Association, invites the public to the Pieces of Perry closing reception with awards ceremony to open the event and silent auction on Friday, November 6, 2026.

Back in September, artists spent three days painting throughout Perry and the surrounding countryside as part of the annual Pieces of Perry En Plein Air Paint-Out. They set up their easels along village streets, near historic buildings, and in quiet spots across the countryside, each finding something different worth capturing.
The finished paintings have been on display at the Arts Council throughout October, and the November 7 reception is a chance to see the exhibition before it comes down, meet some of the participating artists, and maybe even take home a favorite piece.

A Little Piece of Perry to Take Home

One of the highlights of the closing reception will be the silent auction, where guests can bid on original artwork created during the September Paint-Out.
There’s something special about seeing a familiar place through someone else’s eyes. A building you pass every day, a stretch of farmland you’ve driven by a hundred times, or a quiet corner of the village can look completely different when an artist puts it on canvas.

The auction gives people a chance to own one of those interpretations of Perry while supporting local artists and future arts programming.

A Weekend of Painting, a Community Worth Celebrating

Pieces of Perry is a collaboration between the Arts Council for Wyoming County and the Perry Main Street Association. The event brings artists of all experience levels to Perry to paint outdoors, or en plein air, using the buildings, streets, and landscapes around them as inspiration.

While the September Paint-Out is all about getting artists out into the community, the exhibition and closing reception give everyone else a chance to see what they created.
The Arts Council hopes residents and visitors will stop in on November 6, enjoy refreshments, explore the artwork, meet the artists, and help bring this year’s Pieces of Perry to a close.
