The Arts Council for Wyoming County is committed to creating opportunities for youth and adult artists in Wyoming County.
The following is a list of available grants and scholarships funded by the ACWC and its sponsors.
Applications are due December 31st, annually. Follow links for further information on each opportunity.
ACWC Performing Arts Scholarship
Since 2004, the ACWC Youth Performing Arts Scholarship has funded young musicians early in their career to learn more about musical performance with professional musicians. Formerly the Balus scholarship, this was originally made possible by the Mark and Cathy Balus Psalm 116:12 Foundation. This scholarship is awarded once each year to one high school student who wishes to further their studies in the performing arts.
ACWC & Creekside Fabrics Visual Arts Scholarship
A partnership between the ACWC and Creekside Fabrics of Arcade, NY, this scholarship is awarded annually to one high school student who wishes to further their studies in visual arts.. The scholarship will be awarded each year to one high school student who wishes to further his or her studies in visual arts: Photography, fiber arts, ceramic, carpentry, drawing and painting. Rising Star Scholarship
The Arts Council for Wyoming County’s Rising Star Scholarship is awarded annually to a colllege student, graduate, or aspiring young artist up to the age of 30. This scholarship is valued at $1,000; it covers the cost of the registration, booth fee, lunch for the three days of the Letchworth Arts & Crafts Show, a basic tent, and a $200 stipend for materials to prepare for the mandatory solo exhibition in January.
Douglas & Ryan McDanel Scholarship
Established for adult practicing artists to honor the memory of and art contributions of these two artists to Wyoming County, NY and the greater GLOW region. Open to Wyoming County artists or members of the ACWC.
Adult artists are invited to submit proposals to be selected for the ACWC’s Douglas & Ryan McDanel Memorial Scholarship, established to honor the memory and artistic contributions of these two artists.
