Artist Statement:
My existence is an act of resistance. Embodiment is a reflection of my journey to challenge and redefine societal norms around body, gender, and sexuality. This exhibition celebrates my experience as a queer, non-binary, and full-figured individual, emphasizing the beauty and strength in unapologetically claiming space. Over the past year, I’ve pushed myself to learn new skills and explore various mediums—casting, painting, and drawing—to bring this work to life. Each piece is a personal testament to my growth, a declaration that my identity, in all its complexity, is worthy of being seen. Through these works, I am proving to myself that it is not only acceptable but vital to take up space. Each creation holds a fragment of my truth, a part of me that I hold dear. Embodiment is a celebration of that truth, a visual record of resistance, self-love, and acceptance.
