Salary: $35-40k/year

Position Overview:
The Arts Council for Wyoming County (ACWC) seeks an experienced and knowledgeable Grant  Proposal Writer and State Community ReGrant Coordinator to join our team. This role is crucial for  securing funding through grant proposals and managing community arts grants programs. The ideal  candidate will possess exceptional writing skills, strong organizational abilities, and a passion for  supporting the arts. This position requires a blend of grant writing expertise and community  engagement skills to advance ACWC’s mission and support the broader arts community. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide regular updates to the Board of Directors on grant writing and community arts  grants activities. 
  • Write and submit all major grant proposals for the New York State Council on the Arts  (NYSCA), Humanities, Wyoming Foundation, and other funders. 
  • Research and explore new funding resources and opportunities that will benefit ACWC and  other non-profits we serve. 
  • Stay current on trends in arts funding and grant opportunities to identify potential sources  of support. 

State Community Re-grants Promotion and Coordination: 

  • Promote Community Arts Grants (SCR) to local artists and organizations, increasing  awareness and participation. 
  • Present workshops on SCR grants to educate the community about grant opportunities and  application processes. 
  • Coordinate and facilitate SCR panel meetings, ensuring smooth operation and effective  evaluation of grant applications. 
  • Oversee or coordinate the auditing of SCR-sponsored events to ensure compliance with  grant requirements and standards. 
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to plan and present the SCR award event, including  managing invitations, press releases, and event logistics. 
  • Write articles for the ACWC newsletter related to community arts grants, artist spotlights,  and other relevant issues in the arts world.
  • Assist with drafting content that promotes ACWC’s mission and programs to the  community. 
  • Assist the Executive Director at community outreach events as needed, representing ACWC  and promoting its programs. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field. 
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in grant writing and/or nonprofit management, with a  demonstrated track record of successful grant proposals. 
  • Knowledge of grant funding sources, particularly in the arts and humanities sectors. 
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive and  clear proposals and reports. 
  • Experience with community arts programs and grants, including familiarity with SCR grants  and the application process. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple  projects simultaneously. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, Board members, and community stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to assist with community outreach events and other duties as assigned.
