The Oatka Trio at Silver Lake Brewing Project

This free concert features western swing, old pop tunes, country blues and Hawaiian favorites in: “a program of the greatest variety filled with entertainment and surprise”. The trio members are: Paul Todaro on bass and vocals, Chris Jones, ukulele, vocals and standard guitar and G. Elwyn Meixner on Hawaiian steel guitar and vocals.
These three musicians are well know throughout western NY as members of various musical groups including the Skiffle Minstrels and Wilderness Family. Of particular interest, ukuleles designed and built by Mr. (G. Elwyn) Meixner with be featured throughout the program. Mr. Meixner will offer a brief talk about his building process and will be available during breaks and after the show to answer questions.
This will be a celebration of music and the creative process and is offered as just one example of the many talented artists who make Wyoming County home.
Mr. Meixner’s ukulele building project is funded by an Individual Artist Grant through the Community Arts Grants program. Community Arts Grants are made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program (SCR), a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered in Allegany and Wyoming County, NY by the Arts Council for Wyoming County. Statewide Community Regrants serve as an umbrella for three distinct funding categories: Community Arts, Arts Education and Individual Artists grants.
